Fundraiser with a difference!
On a drive out earlier this afternoon, I passed through Keston Village and noticed what I thought was a group of Ferraris outside The Greyhound pub… On my way back, I noticed they were still there & there was a huge crowd of people gathered around on the green opposite watching & as I got home, all I could hear was screaming V8’s going up the hill back towards Keston Village. So naturally, I grabbed my camera, jumped in the car and set off to Keston Village to find out what was going on.
It turned out to be a fund raiser for a charity called Walking to Happiness to help a little girl with a rare disorder meaning she cannot walk unless she has a very expensive operation. To help raise funds, they have organised various events, this one being a “Dream Cars” day where you can pay, say £20, for a ride in any of the cars available. The cars on offer included:
- Ferrari Testarossa
- Ferrari 430 Scuderia
- Ferrari 355 Berlinette
- Ferrari 360
- Ferrari 330
- Ferrari 348 TS
- Austin Healey 3000
- Jaguar E-Type
- Ford Mustang
- Aerial Atom
I was eying up the Testarossa, very tempted to ask for a ride in it… but I didn’t have my wallet and I can’t really afford to be spending my money on a ride round the block as fun as it may be…
I did however, get a few pictures of the cars which can be viewed in my album gallery. The album is here: Walking to Happiness Fundraiser
