Astra Owners Network SE Rolling Road Day

For those who may be interested, I’m currently trying to organise a rolling road day with Astra Owners Network in the South East. This isn’t restricted to just Astras, so you are more than welcome to bring any car you like to the day.

It’ll be held on Sunday 24th April 2011 (starting about 9am, probably) and it’s being hosted by the great guys at AmD in Essex (Y) The price for the day will be £35 for two runs and a print out, with access to free tea, coffee and biscuits. If we have 20+ attendees, then there will be a free BBQ as well! ;)

If you’re interested, or would like more information, please take a look at our thread on the Astra Owners Network forum: http://www.astraownersnetwork.co.uk/showthread.php?t=113898

Rolling Road

As my first major event as south east regional organiser on Astra Owners Network, I organised a rolling road day at AMD Technik is Essex. It was a great day & a big success with around 28 people on the rollers, plus a few others who attended to watch. A big thanks to AMD for hosting the event & putting on a BBQ for us :)

You can view pictures in my gallery, but here is a video of my Astra 1.9 CDTi 150 on the rollers. It produced 155.1BHP and 239.5lb/ft torque on the day. Not bad for standard!

While at the rolling road day, Ashley (Phatashki), kindly fitted a few things to the car for me. Cruise control, anti-hijack and comfort closing :)

We all know what cruise control is, but what is anti-hijack & comfort closing? Anti-hijack is a nice little feature than when you hit 7mph, all the doors automatically lock. They then stay locked until you either open a door from the inside or remove the key from the ignition. Stops people from running up and pulling you out the car while you’re sat at traffic lights for example. Comfort closing is a handy feature related to electric windows. Basically, when you unlock the car, you can hold down the unlock button & all the electric windows will open until you let go. As you can guess, when you lock the car, hold the lock button and they all close :)
